“Today is the oldest you’ve ever been and the youngest you’ll ever be again.” –Eleanor Roosevelt
Why wait? There are so many beautiful places I yearn to discover, people I cannot wait to meet and experiences that will change me forever, so why wait? I decided I would not just dream about those bucket list destinations, I would organize my thoughts and create a list of all the experiences I would like to make happen. I will not let fear stand in my way. I will say yes to as many opportunities as possible. The best part is that it is impossible to predict half of the eye-opening adventures that will occur along the way.
Travel is life intensified. Travel helps us discover ourselves and our strengths through unexpected challenges and changing backdrops. Travel can change you, from a trip abroad to just playing tourist in your own city. Living in NYC I don't even have to travel far to see new things – everything is just a swipe away on the metro. Still, I recognize the importance of utilizing travel to push the limits of our comfort zone and then and only then can we appreciate what we have and where we live.
I studied English writing, Italian language and art at Boston College. After studying abroad in Parma, Italy (and traveling to 10 countries while I was there), I applied to an internship at a travel magazine. I love capturing moments and memories through photography and am now trying to learn more about video.
Jen's Bucket List is a way to catalog my dreams and make them a reality and I hope encourage others to pack their bags, too. Although I am naturally a list person, I want to go beyond checking things off a list and have real conversations with locals over authentic meals, creating stories for life! It’s not just about me though – I want to hear from you! What places and experiences are on your travel bucket list? What do you think needs to be on my list?
